MENTORING, EDUCATION & TRAINING SERVICES
Chop It Up provides mentor-ship to youth ages 10 years to 18 years old. It provides youth with a safe environment to express ideas and concepts while learning critical skills associated with character building, critical thinking, self worth and concept and servant leadership character qualities.

Mentoring Works & It Matters!
Mentoring matters and it works! Studies show youth participating in mentoring programs and or workshops don't exhibit significant amounts of deviant behaviors and perform academically better in school.
Red Sea Project provides mentoring workshops through Chop It Up. Workshops are provided for ages 10 years to 18 years old. Youth attend workshops facilitated by SME's (Subject Matter Experts) in areas including but not limited to self esteem, self awareness, bullying, conflict resolution and purpose.
Chop It Up offers scholarships and sibling discounts to youth residing with families possessing annual income categorized as low to moderate income.
Workshops are held throughout the DFW area and where the need is most warranted. Please contact us, should you desire to have a workshop in your community, faith-based organization or school.
Resources for Parents
Parenting is one of the greatest jobs in the world. Yes, we are underpaid and under appreciated at times, but it is all worth it in the end, and sometimes it seems as if our job never ends. In overwhelming times remember, mentor-ship is a benefit for child and parent. Think of a mentor as a team member in your family you can pass the baton to when you are exhausted or simply need a break. Mentors don't have the same authority or privileges as parents and aren't meant to take a parent's place. They are simply a team member that supports the mission and purpose adopted by your family. Mentors are professional individuals who specialize in working with a specific age range of youth with the mission to enhance the child and family's quality of life through education, training and modeling. Mentors also have specific professional expectations. Below are some of those expectations:
Mentors should always:
Bring solutions to the table when discussing family concerns & complaints.
Should not become a toxic wedge between parent and child.
Partner with parent and family to achieve individual and collective goals to benefit child and family.
Act in a professional manner with parent and child.
Serve as a role model to child.
Discuss mentoring goals with parent involving them in the process.
Become a bridge rather than a closed door between parent and child.
Collaborate with parent/s to enhance mentoring processes
